Furthermore, it exhibits a very rare type of tenebrescence phenomenon, changing color to blue for a while after irradiation(´∀｀*) * The color change to blue may be difficult to occur depending on the wavelength and power of the UV light. A high-power UV light with a wavelength of 365nm was used for the photography. ☆ Scapolite itself is not a very well-known mineral, but it is known for having a refractive index and brilliance similar to quartz and topaz. The name "scapolite" comes from the Greek word "scapos," meaning "column," due to the columnar growth of scapolite crystals (*^^*) ☆ The reversible color change seen in scapolite and hackmanite when exposed to UV light, which then reverts over time, is called tenebrescence.
