This refers to a bell-shaped suzuri (inkstone), often featuring intricate carvings of dragons and other designs. Many of these inkstones date back to the Qing dynasty and earlier. Due to their exquisite carvings and the quality of the stone, they are highly valued as works of art and antiques... I believe they are excellent items for both practical use and appreciation. The texture is soft to the touch. My brother, who has practiced calligraphy for fifty years, can no longer write due to a medical condition affecting his dominant hand. I am also listing other items, including brushes, inkstones, old ink sticks, and tenkoku stones (for seal carving)! Most of these items were purchased and stored several decades ago.
