Thank you for viewing. This is an introduction to a fully operational, overhauled Märklin HO gauge 3005 / DA800 German Federal Railroad Class 23 steam locomotive. It's about 60 years old, but it has been carefully overhauled over time. Some parts have been replaced with parts imported from Germany. The motor, reversing mechanism, and headlight operation are all in perfect working order. The manufacturing number is 1954-1958 (DA800) and 1959- (3005), but this model is an early model that inherited the tradition of DA800 and became 3005. (Not the relatively inexpensive primix version) As it is a model from about 60 years ago, the 3005 / DA800 models from this era that still exist are often in poor paint condition, or the drive system (especially the motor and reversing mechanism) is usually damaged, so I think it is quite rare to find one in such good condition. This model is characterized by the fact that the headlights, which are the type that directly illuminate the bulbs, inheriting the tradition of the MARKLIN 800 series, are very bright. The body is die-cast and has a substantial weight. It has a lot of torque and exhibits a powerful pulling force that you wouldn't expect from a vintage item. It was also featured in "World Railroad Models" published by Sanpo Journal in 1979, and this model is also used in the photo on the colophon. The actual vehicle is a steam locomotive called the German Federal Railroad Class 23, which was developed after World War II to compensate for the shortage of powerful locomotives, and is a famous locomotive that became the last newly built steam locomotive of the German Federal Railroad. It is difficult to obtain one in good condition these days, so please consider this opportunity.
