Handmade and hand-painted sometsuke plate crafted by an Edo period potter. It's a convenient size, just over 7 sun (about 21.4 cm). While not overly large, the ceramic material is sturdy and substantial, with a thickness that gives it a luxurious feel✧ It appears to be in excellent condition, having been well-preserved without much use, and I believe it's a rather beautiful piece. The front features a Tako-karakusa (octopus arabesque) pattern with pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms in the center. The back and sides also have arabesque patterns, and the back center bears the mark "Daimei Seika Nen Sei" (Made in the Seika era of the Ming Dynasty), which was often found on high-quality Edo period plates. With its sense of luxury and presence, it's perfect not only as a single plate but also as a centerpiece on the table for the New Year, surrounded by small bowls for each person! ※※Thank you for viewing. I've become fascinated with antique plates from the Meiji and Edo periods, and I've accumulated quite a collection(*^^*) I'd like to gradually offer the surplus of the same items. Unlike modern ceramics, there may be areas without glaze, small chips, kiln marks, imperfections, and warping that occurred during the creation by the potters of old. It has a different charm than new items, so please examine the images carefully. The period is interpreted slightly differently even by antique shop appraisers. Please understand that the period I mention is based on what I was told when I purchased it. I hope that those who appreciate antiques, old Imari ware, and places like old folk house cafes, traditional restaurants in storehouses, and samurai residences will consider purchasing it (*´∀`*) #RetroStyle #LateEdoPeriod #LateEdoShogunate #MeijiPeriod #Imari #Antique #Sometsuke #Tableware #Arabesque #AntiqueMarket #FleaMarket #FineArt #FromtheStorehouse #Kitchenware #AntiqueGoods #Crafts #Appetizer #NewYear #JapaneseTableware #RareItem #MediumPlate #LargePlate #SidePlate
