Born in Hada, Mizusawa City, Iwate Prefecture in 1935 (Showa 10), he entered the world of casting at the age of 16. Since his first entry and award at the 2nd Iwate Casting Crafts Exhibition in 1958 (Showa 33), he has received over 30 awards. In 2002 (Heisei 14), he was recognized by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare for his outstanding skills and achievements and was awarded the title of "Contemporary Master Craftsman." Currently, there are no other contemporary master craftsmen among the artists of Nambu iron kettles and hot water pots. It is a rusty brown color (Hii-tetsubin). The product condition is good. Although there is slight iron residue inside the product, the condition is good. There are slight traces of direct fire on the bottom of the product. Please refer to the images for details. The rust prevention treatment is the traditional "yaki-nuki" method (burning).
