For sale: An Old Kruspe Pre-Horner full double horn, manufactured between 1910 and 1930. It has a silver-plated finish over yellow brass, combining the resonance of a non-lacquered instrument with the durability of lacquer. Furthermore, it has undergone intonation adjustment using heat treatment, a technique currently popular among some professional players. As a result, the intonation is excellent, and the sound resonates as it would have when it was originally manufactured. It has a sweet, resonant tone, and is more suited to a playing style that emphasizes beautiful phrasing rather than loud volume. This instrument has been stored for a long time, and aside from a patch on a part of the bell, it has no dents and is in very good condition. The rotary valves have been nickel-plated at a Kruspe specialist workshop that used to be in Hamamatsu, so there are no issues with airtightness. At that time, it was modified to be in F (open B♭). (Regarding Pre-Horners, open B♭ is more suitable for Japanese people with smaller hands.) An Old Kruspe with rotary valves re-plated and intonation adjusted, with almost no dents, is unlikely to be found on the market. Pre-Horners were only made before the war and are very valuable instruments.
