Calace, one of the world's top three mandolin brands, is a maker of the highest quality mandolins. This instrument is a Classico B, made in 1989. The top is spruce, and the back is 31-rib white maple. This mandolin has a lively sound that seems to soar. I have kept it as part of my collection, but I am now putting it up for sale. There is some slight clouding on the metal parts. There are some dents and paint damage on the back of the neck, the back of the headstock, and the neck-body joint, but they are not critical. There is a minor crack on the soundboard. The repair history is unknown, but it is currently stable, and there appear to be no problems with use. The frets have some wear from playing, but there are no issues such as dead notes during performance. The tuning machines work well. The string height at the 12th fret is about 1.4-2.5mm, making it easy to play. It has been restrung with new strings, so you should be able to use it as is for a while.
