It has a gentle face and two dumpling-shaped buns on its head, and I believe it is a replica mask of the Maitreya Bodhisattva, or the Nyoirin Kannon statue (National Treasure), famous for its half-seated pose. Your hands will turn black if you touch it. I wiped it lightly, but please be careful when handling it.
