This is a Bizen-yaki teapot. It has a mark, but the artist's name is unknown. It's from the same artist as the pitcher also listed. I remember the artist being a contemporary artist. I purchased it at a gallery for tens of thousands of yen. It's a wonderful piece of Bizen-yaki, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful aesthetic of the sangiri (wood-fired) patterns. There appears to be a chip on the body where the lid sits, but it's original to the piece. Please purchase if you appreciate the rugged, coarse texture of the rough clay. It's a rather rare item. The handle is an interesting shape that's easy to hold. It's a modern and wonderful piece. It's a lovely piece of pottery, suitable for both practical use and display.
