This is a "Scattered Clouds Pattern Bell Case." Goeika (Buddhist hymns) are: Waka (Japanese poems) of five-seven-five-seven-seven syllables that express Buddhist teachings, sung to a melody. It is one of the religious traditional performing arts that has been passed down in Japanese Buddhism since the Heian period. Those with a five-seven or seven-five syllable structure set to music are called "Wasan," and in a broad sense, both are collectively treated as "Goeika."
