I purchased this Castelli rain jacket in 2020 and used it a few times on chilly, sunny days in September and October. The color is light black. I wore it in the early morning, then hand-washed it and turned it inside out to dry in the shade, so I think the color fading is minimal. I bought it to use in chilly, rainy races and gran fondos in spring and autumn, but I didn't have a chance to wear it due to the COVID-19 pandemic the following year, so it has been stored in a drawer. I haven't used fabric softener, but please be aware that there may be some scent transfer from the detergent and other clothes in the drawer.
