Opens as follows: Camera mounting section ~ approx. 5cm → approx. 8.5cm Legs ~ approx. 10cm → approx. 15cm I've only attached my smartphone to it once or twice for testing. I haven't actually used it. The moving parts seem to operate very smoothly. I threw away the box, so it's just the main unit.
