It has a one-piece construction with the top cap, base plate, and handle integrated. The TTO (Twist To Open) design allows you to open and close the top cap by rotating the dial at the bottom of the handle when replacing the blade. This mechanism makes blade replacement easy. I purchased this used on a flea market site and have used it several times. The shaving sensation is mild, and it is highly efficient, similar to later generic holders. *The evaluation of the shaving sensation is based solely on the seller's personal opinion. Wet shaving varies from person to person. For this listing, it has been ultrasonically cleaned, alcohol-cleaned, and UV-sterilized.
