This is a traditional Okinawan pottery "Yachimun" cup and saucer set. I purchased it a few years ago from the Kyokuyo Joint Store in Yomitan, Okinawa. The design is very elaborate, with a deep green and brown gradation and white lines created using the Itchin technique. It has a strong texture that feels the warmth of the earth, yet has a modern atmosphere that fits in with contemporary dining tables. It's the perfect size for coffee, tea, or even as a soup cup.
