This is an awase kimono featuring a pattern that combines a small shark-skin (same-komon) design with a wave pattern. The lining (hakkake) is vermilion, and the outer fabric is similar in color, but with the gentle tone created by the small white dots of the same-komon. Bold wave patterns are drawn on top, adding a youthful energy. I took this with me when I lived abroad and wore it twice, pairing it with a gold and vermilion obi. I received many compliments and love this kimono, but since returning to Japan, I've been busy raising children and haven't had the chance to wear it. I hesitate to shorten the sleeves to 49cm, so I'm offering it for sale hoping someone can wear it with the long sleeves. It's in pretty good condition, but as it's been stored for years, it's listed as "Like New" rather than "Excellent Condition" due to its age.
The vermilion color appears stronger under lighting, but the first photo is the closest to the actual color in natural light.
