(Just my opinion) Because it's hand-painted, the subtle differences in the glaze and pattern make each piece unique and enjoyable. I purchased several of these at an Arita-yaki pottery fair at a department store in Kansai many years ago. I bought them thinking they would be lovely for special occasions like New Year's, filled with things like salmon roe or black beans... but they've been sitting in the cupboard ever since... I'm also listing other pieces with different patterns and variations of the same design, so please take a look and compare them. I think they could be used as small dishes for side dishes, or as a small container for earrings, rings, or other small items (jewelry box). The bottom is dirty, but otherwise, there are no noticeable scratches or chips. Please consider this item, understanding that it has been stored at home for a long time.
