I think it's from the same era as Levis 501 Big E 66. Isn't it a nice check pattern with good colors? The material is, of course, wool, but considering it's vintage, it feels rougher than current products, and the texture of the wool is emphasized. The pattern isn't the popular Pendleton shadow check, but thanks to the use of off-white in the classic red and navy, it has a strong American rural feel and a vintage vibe, making it very American casual! Normally, adding white tends to evoke a sense of cleanliness and freshness, but with check shirts, especially flannel shirts and wool shirts in the fall and winter, the earthy feel increases considerably, and the atmosphere is fantastic. There are some loose stitches, but there doesn't seem to be any moth damage to the wool (I might have missed something, but it seems okay).
