E1 is 1-ply, while this ED1 is a 2-ply Shetland knit. It's an undershirt developed to withstand the harsh cold of Everest, so although it's size 38, it's quite small. I think it's about the same size as an ANATOMICA Shetland knit size 34. Compared to ANATOMICA, the knit is tighter, and I think it's much warmer. I've only worn it once, so it's in very beautiful condition. The quality label comes off easily, so I removed it and stored it separately.
