The plating uses a rhodium plating solution mixed with another metal, resulting in a grayish silver color. Like rhodium plating, it is resistant to discoloration and corrosion. It is the hardest plating and has passed the spark test (a test to see if it peels off after 30,000 sparks). Copper plating is used as an undercoat before the gunmetal plating, which is a jewelry plating, resulting in a different shine. This product required considerable effort and expense.
