It has high output comparable to a P-90, and the sound doesn't resemble a Telecaster; instead, it has a biting quality with a mid-range emphasis like a P-90. It uses Alnico 5 magnets and has a resistance of 18kΩ, with specifications almost identical to Duncan's STL-3 Quarter Pound. It works well when used in a Telecaster with a P-90 in the neck position, creating a balanced sound. With a normal Telecaster, switching from the neck pickup to this bridge pickup increases the volume, acting like a booster, making it easy to use for lead playing. Single-coil pickups with this much power are rare.
