New, Unused Fukuro Obi (Full-Length Obi) Nishijin-ori (Nishijin Weave) Kara-ori (Kara Weave) Rokutsu (Six-Section Design) Pre-sewn (with a plain-weave silk obi core) Pure Silk Features an auspicious kusudama (paper ball) pattern. The base color is light gray. If anything, it's similar to an elephant skin color, a slightly grayish yellow. (The color in image 2 is the closest.) Various colorful flowers are woven like embroidery on a light gray background. Glittering gold leaf peeks out between the flowers woven with pale, gentle colored threads, making it beautiful. (Please refer to images 3-4) Also, the string part of the kusudama is woven like embroidery with blue-green and silver threads. It has an elegant feel like a ribbon tied in a bow. (Please refer to images 5-6) The lining has a striped pattern of light gray and gray-green. You can also enjoy variations in tying the obi where the lining is visible. (Please refer to images 7-8) It's a pattern that can be used all year round except for summer, both for single-layered and double-layered kimonos, so it's very convenient. It's a light and soft obi, but based on my experience wearing a different color (not yet listed), the otaiko (back knot) shape came out beautifully, and it was easy to tie. In addition to everyday use, I thought it would be convenient to use it for formal occasions with a visiting kimono because the auspicious kusudama pattern looks luxurious. I also purchased it because I found the elegant flow of the blue-green and silver strings very attractive. It cost about 500,000 yen including the sewing cost.
