Filton, a coined word combining the French words "Fil" (thread) and "Bouton" (button). Filton eyewear, born in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, a region renowned for eyewear production, began in December 2021, creating works that express the designer's sensibilities and thoughts. With the concept of "collage" born from the collaboration of eyewear artisans and artistic techniques, Filton combines materials of various properties and logics, incorporating artistic and fine art techniques into its eyewear. The designs, which carry a hint of French vintage eyewear, are combined with the sensibilities of a designer who has been immersed in art and fashion since their student days, resulting in works that are completely different from other Sabae eyewear, thanks to the handmade finish by Japanese eyewear artisans. This is the fourth piece in the Aiguille ("sewing needle") series, a French word. It is Filton's iconic series. The designer's thoughts and ideas about clothing and fashion are packed into every part of the components. While the silhouette is linear, it features unique rounded designs in various places and models that emphasize the color of the fabric. The temple core is shaped like a sewing needle, with fine text engraved on the needle using a laser. This is Filton's representative series, with buttons and buttonholes engraved on the titanium nose pads.
