After being revived in the Edo period, it became a monzeki temple where a Hoshinnō (Imperial Prince) resided. The interior is not open to the public, but the Shinden (Imperial Audience Hall) and Shoin (drawing room) were given from the former palace of Empress Meisho at that time. The garden is filled with cherry blossoms, wisteria, irises, and Japanese irises, and Mandarin ducks visit the Himuro Pond in winter.
