Purchased a long time ago from "ZONA," a famous雑貨店 with its main store in NY. It was a unique interior shop that stood out from others, with a mix of雑貨, furniture, tableware, garden goods, iron products, and fabrics from around the world. It wasn't "international style," but rather a "Santa Fe style" ZONA! The shop is no longer in business. This is a hand-painted Italian ceramic piece, "Disappearing Cherries" by Vietri for Hillsborough, NC. Vietri for Hillsborough, NC is a US Vietri store founded in 1983. In 1983, the American mother-daughter duo, the Gravelys, went to Positano, Italy, and were captivated by handmade ceramics. They immediately visited the Vietri sul Mare kiln. Vietri sul Mare, a town on the eastern edge of the Amalfi Coast in Italy, known as "glass on the sea," is famous for its ceramics. This set of four decorative plates depicts the transformation of cherries from blossom to fruit, eventually disappearing. The white square plates have a wavy edge design with a blue border. There is a hole on the back for wall hanging. Arranging the four plates on a dining room or kitchen wall is very elegant and full of Italian atmosphere. Of course, they can also be used to decorate a dining table. The design concept is innovative, and the combination of the four plates is very lovely and stylish. After purchase, I missed the opportunity to display them and they have been stored in a closet. They are unused and in very beautiful condition. The only flaw is a minor chip on one of the floral plates (image 8), but it is on the white part and not very noticeable. I would be very happy if someone could use them.
