A toso set usually consists of four items: a "choshi" (a teapot for sake), a "sakazuki" (sake cups), a "sakadai" (a stand for the sake cups), and a "tosodai" (a tray to hold these items). The sake cups are typically a set of three, large, medium, and small, stacked together. Many are made of lacquerware and some are elaborately decorated with auspicious designs such as pine, bamboo, and plum, using maki-e (sprinkled picture) or chinkin (gold inlay) techniques. This item has been stored at home for many years and is considered used, so please understand this before purchasing. The lid of the teapot is missing (see photo 6), so it is a missing item.
