Madame Alexander / Madame Alexander 8” SLNW (1953) This is a Madame Alexander straight-leg non-walker doll. It is 8 inches (approx. 20cm) tall. It has sleep eyes (working well). The knees do not bend. The hair color is auburn (red-brown with luster and shine). The dress is a white (organza) dress under a pink (cotton) coat, and she is wearing a pink (felt) bonnet (fading and stains present, see photos). It has an Alexander-kins tag. The shoes are white button-flap (non-stitch) fuzzy bottom shoes (repair marks on the bottom, stains in several places on the upper, see photos). The body is an early model (1953), made in a small quantity, and is heavier than other dolls. (It was originally said to have been made to resemble bisque.) Both the lips and face makeup are perfectly preserved, and the doll is in surprisingly good condition, considering it is over 70 years old.
