All M+abaca products are handcrafted by artisans from the San Ramon Abaca Handicraft Association. The abaca used is first-class (highest quality) organic abaca from the San Ramon settlement in the Maranao village. Compared to standard abaca obi belts, the macrame patterns are finer and more delicate, and the basho thread is thin, white, and soft, so it won't damage kimonos or yukata (though the extent depends on how they are handled).
