"Midfoot" refers to the action of walking, where the entire sole of the foot lands flat (subjectively, the feeling of landing on the center of the sole) during walking. This landing reduces braking caused by heel strikes, which can lessen the burden on the calves and joints. They are lightweight, have good cushioning, and are less tiring.
