This is a glass jar or bottle, perfect for storing homemade cookies, madeleines, and other treats. I've actually used it a couple of times as a cookie jar. Just having cookies in this jar on the kitchen counter makes me happy. The opening is wide enough for most women's hands to fit through. I was able to reach in and wash it with a sponge. The lid isn't completely airtight, so it would leak if you turned it upside down with liquid inside, but it does a good job of keeping out moisture and the like.
