I've embroidered a traditional Sashiko pattern (Asa-no-ha, hemp leaf) onto a patchwork piece. I think it turned out to be a very vibrant pouch. The lining is made of laminated fabric, so you can wipe it clean if it gets dirty. The pocket has gathers, so I think it can hold a lot. I've used quilt batting, so it's fluffy, but it also has some stiffness (because of the laminated fabric). This is a handmade item by an amateur, so there may be some distortion or uneven stitching.
