This is a piece of indigo-dyed cotton boro. It is estimated to be from the Meiji to Taisho eras. It is likely to have been used for futon covers, etc. This indigo dye was collected in Kaga. The touch of the hand-spun yarn is incredibly gentle, and it feels like it has been used extensively. There are considerable patches, tears, frays, damage, and stains, but the clear indigo color makes it a refreshing piece.
