This furisode (long-sleeved kimono) features an impressive design of abundant golden rice stalks, bowed low with ripeness, and a chrysanthemum marumon (round crest) depicted with koma embroidery. Although it is an antique kimono, its design does not feel dated. The rice stalks symbolize the five grains and stability in life, while the chrysanthemum symbolizes longevity, nobility, and protection. This kimono beautifully expresses the wish for "a prosperous, long, and protected life" all in one garment, making it a highly auspicious design. We believe it is a suitable piece for weddings and celebrations marking life's milestones. The base is white rinzu (a type of silk fabric with a damask pattern) with a diamond pattern as the ground weave. The fabric is of exceptionally high quality and luxury, adorned with magnificent koma embroidery of chrysanthemums and rice stalk patterns colored with gold from traditional craftsmanship. This is a very rare kimono that is difficult to find nowadays. The lining shows age-related discoloration, typical of antique items.
