This is an inro (small, lidded container) meticulously crafted by my father, whose hobby is woodworking. It's made of Japanese zelkova wood with Hakone marquetry. (The surface has a glossy finish) A peach pit is used for the handle. This inro is small and of a size not seen before. It has been well-received, used for things like carrying medicine, during iaido practice, karaoke, Awa Odori and the Oharabushi Bon Odori dances. It was finished painstakingly, using only chisels, without the use of machines. I've received kind words, such as "It's hard to believe an amateur made this," and "You can feel the warmth of the wood."
