Copperplate printing involves printing designs engraved on copper plates onto transfer paper and then applying them to the surface of the pottery by hand, one piece at a time. All Burleigh products are handmade in England, and there are variations in ink unevenness and the way the transfer paper adheres to each piece. This is also part of the deep flavor of Burleigh.
