This is a ceramic piece found during the end-of-life preparations of my grandparents. It features a simple, earthy texture and bold calligraphy. It has a tokkuri (sake bottle) shape, with hemp rope wrapped around the neck, and a unique ceramic lid (or sake vessel lid) on top. It has the feel of Shigaraki-yaki or Bizen-yaki pottery, with hand-painted calligraphy that is dynamic and gives it a unique presence. It was displayed as an objet d'art at my grandparents' house, so it is unused and in beautiful condition with no noticeable scratches or stains. It can be used as a sake vessel, a flower vase for a single stem, or simply as a decorative vase for Japanese-style interiors.
