The innovative soles use a proprietary material called "membrane." This material has microscopic pores that are smaller than water droplets but larger than water vapor. By sandwiching this material between the layers of the sole, the shoes prevent water from entering while reducing stuffiness inside, a feature for which they hold a patent.
