This item was purchased and used by my mother at our family home over 50 years ago, during the Showa era. As far as an amateur can tell, there are no scratches. It is made of multiple layers of glass, with blue glass on the outside and white glass on the inside. The shade of blue appears different depending on how the light hits it. A sticker from when it was purchased is affixed to the shoulder, but the writing on it is illegible.
