Kunitachi Chuji goes on a rampage in the mountains of Akagi for the sake of the yakuza world's code of honor. Based on the theme of Taro Shoji's hit song, this is an entertaining period drama in which a trio of actors, Jushiro Konoe, Netaro Kitakami, and Hiro Nawa, portray men living within the constraints of the yakuza world. In the late Tenpo era, Kunitachi Chujiro (Kunitachi Chuji), seeing the poverty of the farmers suffering from a poor harvest, attacks the local magistrate's office and releases the stored rice. Afterward, Chuji, burdened with numerous criminal charges, takes refuge deep in the mountains of Akagi. Soon, the authorities begin to crack down on Chuji. Enzo of Nikko, a strategist for Chuji's gang, sends his underlings to various provinces to resolve the situation, but his plan fails. Asataro, one of the underlings, saves a town girl at an inn and kills Komakuzo of Bonten, who opposes Chuji. Later, when Asataro returns to the mountains, a man named Seikichi Aikoh joins the gang. However, this Seikichi is a spy hired by Seiichiro Nakayama, an inspector of the eight provinces, for the reward money.
