This is an Imari-style sometsuke mukouzuke (small serving dish). The slightly bluish vessel has a jagged edge, resembling a wheel. The body is elaborately decorated with takokusa (octopus arabesque) and line drawings. The shape of the vessel and the way the arabesque is drawn are unlike anything I've seen before, making it a rare and exceptional piece. One piece has a kiln mark, and another has a stone inclusion.
