Excellent Condition Towncraft 60s 70s Made in USA Open Collar Check Shirt A fantastic vintage piece has arrived. This is a Towncraft shirt from half a century ago, size L, in a green color, with an open collar made of cotton-poly blend. It appears the long sleeves were cut off, and the uneven hand-stitched single stitch at the sleeve ends adds to the character. Towncraft was manufactured as a private brand of JCPenney, one of the three major store brands. Good condition pieces are scarce in the market, and while reproductions are common these days, this is a rare original piece from about half a century ago. While many circulating items are small sizes like S or smaller, this one is size L. The cotton-poly material is less prone to wrinkles than 100% cotton or rayon, and wrinkles mostly disappear with just a quick hand iron before drying. Rayon requires care regarding shrinkage and abrasion, but I just put it in a laundry net and wash it frequently.
