This is a repurposed half-width obi made from a used, genuine silk (正絹) fukuro obi (袋帯). Two fukuro obi were cut in half lengthwise and then layered, resulting in a considerable length, utilizing the full length of the original fukuro obi. If you need a long obi, this might be perfect for you. The length allows for a variety of tying styles. It can be tied reversibly. Since it uses the entire length of the fukuro obi, there are some areas without embroidered patterns. Please check the photos. It can also be used as a table runner. The black fabric features chrysanthemum patterns and the seal script character "寿" (longevity). The gray fabric is in beautiful condition with little sign of wear.
