Thank you for looking. This is a protective cover to be placed over the chin rest of a violin or viola. It protects your precious instrument from dirt and sweat, and is made in response to requests from those with metal or varnish allergies, or sensitive skin. This particular cover can be used for both violin (4/4) and viola if you have a Guarneri or Kaufman style chin rest. (Currently not compatible with Flesch style or other chin rest shapes.) Outer dimensions are approximately 20cm x 12cm, the pocket opening is approximately 10cm, and the depth is approximately 4cm. The outer fabric is a dusty pink with black cats and rose pattern (cotton-linen canvas), and the inner fabric is plain Bordeaux color (100% cotton). It is thin with no batting, so it is stress-free to attach. *Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about the prickliness of linen. ⚠️Please note that due to smartphone photography, it was impossible to capture the exact colors. The actual color may differ slightly from the photos. Place the pocket part over the chin rest and secure it with the elastic on the back. Very soft mask elastic is used so as not to damage your precious instrument. I don't think it will affect the sound, but if you are concerned, you can place it over the shoulder rest or wrap it around the shoulder rest. Also, if you thread it through the shoulder rest, you can save the trouble of attaching and detaching it each time. The length of the elastic can be adjusted with a stopper. This stopper is also made of silicone, so it will not affect the instrument or sound. The buttons are acrylic, but the inner button on the side that touches the instrument is made of soft felt fabric. Please gently hand wash when dirty. Ironing is possible except for the elastic and buttons. Images 9 and 10 are instructions. (A sample was used for shooting.) ⚠️These will not be included. Please download them if necessary.
