They are made of anodized aluminum, making them lightweight and durable. *Do not use for climbing.* They were stored with other carabiners, so there may be some minor scratches. ————— Anodizing is a process that creates an anodic oxide film on the surface of aluminum by electrolytically treating the aluminum at the anode. This process is performed to improve the corrosion and abrasion resistance of aluminum and for decorative purposes. It's quite difficult to reproduce this anodizing process on small items, especially with a splash (random) design, and it's said to be done by hand by craftsmen.
