Ultra-Rare GUYATONE LG-70 BRILLIANT PICKUPS Guyatone LG-70 Original Sunburst Finish - Rare Model - Made in Japan, Circa 1962 A truly rare gem. The LG-70 was first manufactured in Japan in the late 1950s. This particular guitar is likely from around 1962, although the exact year is difficult to pinpoint. The LG-70 had various variations, including set-neck and bolt-on models, with and without vibrato. One model is known to have been the first guitar of a certain Mr. J. Hendrix. 【Condition】 Overall, in good condition considering its age. The Guyatone logo is missing, and as can be seen in the photos, there are numerous dents and scratches on the body and headstock. The tuners show discoloration, and several are bent, but there are no operational issues. The string retainer bar is not the original specification. It is not fixed and requires modification to function properly (the photos show it temporarily in place). As good news, it is definitely from another Guyatone LG series guitar. It fits perfectly into the holes. It was included when I acquired the guitar, so I will include it. 【Playability】 Light gauge strings (9-46) were selected during the recent setup. Heavier gauges are also compatible if needed. Low action with excellent intonation. The original thin frets show wear, but all are clean, with no buzzing or dead spots. Because of the floating bridge and lack of position markers, I marked the intonation lines with tape during adjustment. It can be easily removed. You'll be hard-pressed to find another model that combines such a wide range of authentic vintage sounds with the jungle sounds of the 60s. It's truly a masterpiece.
