These are zori (Japanese sandals) with real tatami mats, which is unusual for children's footwear. As someone who wears kimono myself, I was drawn to their high quality. The undersides show signs of wear, but the uppers are clean, and I think they would be perfectly usable for photoshoots or events like Shichi-Go-San (a traditional Japanese festival for children).
