The design depicts "a rabbit before becoming the Moon Rabbit, gazing at the hazy moon over a field of pampas grass." The design was drawn with tsutsugaki, dyed, and then a gradation was added to the background. Furthermore, natural persimmon tannin dye was applied to the pampas grass. (The last photo shows the back) ■ I create this design every year around this time, but due to the recent difficulty in procuring dyeing materials, this will likely be the last piece I make this year. ■ Because persimmon tannin dye has been layered in some areas, you can enjoy the aging process over the months, years, and even decades to come. As it was made very recently, the condition is quite good. How about using it as tsutsugaki fabric for display, as an antique cloth to be cherished, or as a material for remaking?
