This is a Ryukyu lacquerware square tray made in the 1950s and 1960s. Each side is approximately 30.2cm, height approximately 1.6cm. Although it is an unused item, there is some deterioration due to long-term storage. There is one crack on the surface (which is difficult to show in the image) and several cracks in the lacquer on the edge of the back. In addition, a slight stain-like discoloration of vermilion lacquer can be seen on the surface, but this appears to be the color of the undercoat (like Negoro-nuri) and is likely part of the original design. m(_ _)m
