This is a 6-hole, 6-tone, Tenchi-style, natural-colored flute with a rattan wrap, crafted by the second-generation flute maker Chuichi Ito of the Ito Chikukanki Seisakusho, who inherited the Edo-era Shishida school. Made over 40 years ago, the shinobue bamboo is well-dried, resulting in excellent sound quality and tone. The bamboo has developed a beautiful patina, giving it a wonderful appearance.
