This is an antique cotton "kōbai" fabric. It features a mature and refreshing komon pattern of flowing water and chrysanthemums on an off-white background. Since it's cotton, it can be made into a yukata, but it's more sheer than modern cotton "kōbai" and the color is white, so it's safer to wear it as a summer kimono with a襦袢 (juban, undershirt). It would also be lovely to make into Western-style clothing. Fabric width: 35.5 cm *The width is narrower than modern fabrics. Please be aware that it may not be sufficient for those with long arm spans. The material has been tested for flammability by taking a thread from the edge. There are thin yellow age spots mainly on the edges. They are hardly noticeable in the middle.
