Please also see my profile. 2009 Upper Deck Piece of History Ichiro This card features Ichiro, who had a brilliant MLB debut, winning six titles simultaneously in his rookie year: AL Rookie of the Year, batting champion with the highest batting average for a rookie, stolen base leader, Silver Slugger Award, Gold Glove Award, and season MVP. He then went on to achieve numerous records, including being the only player in MLB history to hit 200 or more hits for 10 consecutive years, the MLB season record for most hits (262), and a Guinness World Record for a combined 4,367 hits in both Japanese and American professional baseball (first team & major leagues). He also hit the walk-off hit that clinched the WBC championship for Samurai Japan. Ichiro is a truly memorable and great player, and he was the first Japanese major leaguer to be inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame. This is a card from his second year in the majors. This card was included in the 2009 Upper Deck Piece of History set. The card is over 15 years old, but it has been carefully stored in a dark place without being displayed or carried around in an album. Therefore, it shows no signs of deterioration such as yellowing, fading, or sun damage. It is in relatively good condition for its age, but there is a noticeable initial scratch on the top edge.
